Moorlands is on the
proposed closure list.
Northshore’s Enrollment Demographics Advisory Committee (EDAC) has prepared three closure scenarios. All three include closing Moorlands Elementary and moving students to Arrowhead and Woodmoor.
The School Board has not made a final decision.

Why we’re fighting for Moorlands
We love our school. We love the teachers and staff who care for our children, earn their trust, and help them grow. The possibility of losing that daily connection is heartbreaking. We’re worried about what a closure would mean for these educators and staff members, too.
Our children have spent years of their childhoods here building friendships and learning who they can count on. There is a story behind every one of those relationships. Dividing Moorlands between two schools would split a community our children know and could separate close friends from one another and from the adults they trust. Those bonds deserve far more consideration than a new school assignment.
Many of us have seen the human cost of corporate restructuring and layoffs. We don’t want that same thinking applied to our children, with students treated as numbers to redistribute. Enrollment figures cannot tell the whole story of what our children would lose.
That story includes sports, extracurricular activities, PTA work, school events, and the friendships between families who keep showing up for each other. Our community brings professional and technical expertise, volunteer time, and financial support. We want to put that commitment to work with the district to explore ways to keep Moorlands open.
Please hear our families, listen to our teachers and staff, and give keeping this beloved school together the serious consideration it deserves.
